Weekend Weather Forecast For Western & Central Mass

For The Rest Of This Afternoon: It is expected to remain quite windy across the entire area throughout the rest of this afternoon. Wind gusts so far today have been in the 35-50 mph range and I suspect we’ll see the 35-50 mph wind gusts continue throughout the rest of this afternoon. These windy conditions may lead to some downed tree limbs and power lines causing the possibility of some isolated power outages.

Skies will be partly sunny with temperatures between 75 and 80 Degrees throughout the rest of this afternoon.

Tonight: Winds are expected to diminish quickly once the sun sets this evening.

Skies throughout tonight will be partly cloudy. Low temperatures will be between 55 and 60 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph before midnight and West at 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

This Weekend: The weather forecast for this weekend is fairly uncertain. The reason for the uncertainty is due to questions surrounding the expectation of a piece of energy that’ll drive a large complex of thunderstorms moving southeastward from Ontario and Quebec provinces as we get into Saturday night and Sunday.

Where this large thunderstorm complex tracks across New England will be crucial in determining what our weekend weather will be likely, especially Saturday night and Sunday. If the thunderstorm complex heads southeastward into Southern New England late Saturday night and Sunday morning, it would lead to widespread thunderstorms occurring from about midnight Saturday night to about midday Sunday. On the other hand, should this thunderstorm complex track southeastward across Maine and Atlantic Canada, it would lead to a warm and humid, but dry Saturday night and Sunday.

Not an easy forecast at all!!!

For now, it looks like Saturday will be partly sunny with increasing humidity levels by late in the day. High temperatures will be between 80 and 85 Degrees. Winds will be West at 7 to 15 mph.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy, but I will be closely watching where exactly that large complex of thunderstorms tracks out of Ontario and Quebec provinces. For now, I’m not going to forecast thunderstorms for late Saturday night, but that could very well change. It will be humid with low temperatures near 65 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday’s forecast also looks uncertain due to questions surrounding where exactly that big complex of thunderstorms moves. For now, I’m going to go with cloudy skies during Sunday morning with partly sunny skies on Sunday afternoon. I’m not going to forecast thunderstorms for Sunday morning as I think that the complex of thunderstorms may pass just to our east and track across a large part of Maine. That said, the forecast for Sunday could drastically change should that complex of thunderstorms drop southeastward into Southern New England instead. It will be humid on Sunday with high temperatures near 85 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

Very Hot & Very Humid Weather Is Expected On Monday & Tuesday: Very hot and humid temperatures are expected on Monday and Tuesday as a high pressure system over the Mid-Atlantic states pumps in the heat and the humidity.

Monday looks partly sunny, very hot and very humid with high temperatures between 93 and 99 Degrees. Heat index readings of 100 to 110 degrees can be expected leading to some big time hot weather risks for those of you that need to be outdoors & those of you who are heat sensitive.

Tuesday looks sunny, very hot and very humid with high temperatures between 95 and 100 Degrees. Heat index readings of 105 to 110 degrees looks likely leading to dangerous conditions for those of you outdoors and those of you who are sensitive to heat.

Wednesday Through Friday: That high pressure system is expected to push southward into the Carolinas as we get into Wednesday and Thursday. As that high pressure moves to the south, it could put our area in a pattern that’s a little more favorable for daily afternoon thunderstorms on both Thursday and Friday.

Wednesday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 85 Degrees.

Thursday looks partly sunny with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will be near 80 Degrees.

Friday looks partly sunny with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will be between 75 and 80 Degrees.
