Warm Temperatures This Afternoon Will Be Followed By A Cool & Damp Weekend Across Western & Central Mass

For This Afternoon: Generally partly sunny skies are expected throughout this afternoon. Temperatures this afternoon will reach between 80 and 85 Degrees. Winds will be West at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Tonight: A dry cold front will drop down through Southern New England late this afternoon and this evening. This cold front will bring with it cooler temperatures with less humidity, which will be noticeable on Friday.

Skies during tonight will be clear to partly cloudy. Low temperatures will be between 50 and 55 Degrees.

Friday: A mixture of sunshine and clouds can be expected throughout the day on Friday.

High temperatures will be near 75 Degrees with much less humidity. Winds will be West to Northwest at 7 to 14 mph in the morning and South to Southwest at 6 to 12 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: An area of low pressure riding along a stationary front will reach the south coast of New England by late Friday night and early Saturday morning.

This means that skies will become cloudy during Friday evening. Scattered showers are then expected across the region during the after midnight hours.

Low temperatures will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Winds will be South to Southwest at 5 to 10 mph.

This Weekend: A cool and damp weekend is expected across the region as we will have a persistent onshore wind.

That low pressure system riding along the front will move along the south coast of New England on Saturday morning before pushing to the east by afternoon.

Scattered showers are expected throughout Saturday morning. These showers should end by early Saturday afternoon, but the rest of the afternoon will be cloudy and cool along with occasional drizzle and sprinkles. High temperatures Saturday will be near 60 Degrees. Winds will be East to Northeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday also looks to be a cloudy, cool and damp day as the area remains in a persistent onshore wind flow. In addition to this, areas of drizzle and some sprinkles at times can be expected. High temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees.

Next Week's Weather Outlook: Next week’s weather forecast has a fair amount of uncertainty attached to it. The reason why is due to the fact that a stationary front will be draped just to our south through much of next week. Any pieces of energy or weak low pressure systems riding along this front will produce bouts of showers and thunderstorms. The question then becomes when exactly will any of these pieces of energy move through.

Monday looks to be cloudy and there may be a few showers around from time to time. High temperatures will be between 70 and 75 Degrees.

Tuesday is expected to be cloudy with high temperatures near 75 Degrees.

An area of low pressure may ride along that front to our south during Wednesday bringing with it some scattered showers to the area during the day. High temperatures Wednesday will be near 75 Degrees.

A return to summer heat is expected for next Thursday and next Friday.

Next Thursday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 85 and 90 Degrees.

Next Friday looks partly sunny and there may be some afternoon and evening scattered showers and thunderstorms as a cold front moves through the region. High temperatures will be near 85 Degrees.
