For The Rest Of This Afternoon & Tonight: The cold front that brought us the thunderstorms late yesterday afternoon and evening will continue to push offshore during the rest of this afternoon.
This means that more clouds than sunshine can be expected for much of the rest of this afternoon. This looks to gradually give way to more sunshine than clouds by late this afternoon. It will be warm and quite muggy with temperatures around 85 Degrees. Winds will be West at 8 to 16 mph.
Clear to partly cloudy skies can be expected throughout tonight along with humid conditions. Low temperatures will be near 65 Degrees. Winds will be West at 6 to 12 mph.
Thursday: Another warm and humid day is expected on Thursday. Skies during the morning will be sunny to partly sunny with a mixture of sunshine and clouds expected during the afternoon.
The atmosphere by Thursday afternoon is expected to be somewhat unstable. These somewhat unstable conditions will combine with the energy and forcing from an approaching cold front to set off some thunderstorm activity during the mid and late afternoon hours into the early evening hours.
That said, there is uncertainty as to how isolated or widespread the thunderstorms may be. Some of the weather forecast guidance is showing most of the activity occurring to the north and to the south of us leaving us in an empty alleyway of no thunderstorms at all. Other weather forecast guidance does show a scenario of scattered thunderstorms affecting much of the area with the more intense thunderstorms affecting areas near and south of the Mass Pike.
For now, I’m thinking that we’ll see at least a few thunderstorms move across the area between about 3 pm and 8 pm Thursday. It’s possible that one or two of these thunderstorms may be on the strong side & be capable of producing wind gusts of up to 50 mph, pea size hail, torrential downpours and frequent lightning.
I will be monitoring things closely and will update you as needed on the potential for thunderstorms & in particular, the potential for strong thunderstorms.
High temperatures will be near 85 Degrees. Winds will be West at 8 to 16 mph.
Fourth Of July Weekend: The Fourth of July holiday weekend continues to look decent in terms of weather. An area of high pressure will control the weather throughout the weekend leading to quiet weather.
Independence Day (Friday) is expected to be sunny to partly sunny and much less humid. High temperatures will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph.
Saturday looks sunny with high temperatures between 80 and 85 Degrees.
Sunday looks sunny with high temperatures between 85 and 90 Degrees.
