An area of freezing rain is currently pushing northeastward into parts of Western and Central Mass.
It is expected that once this light freezing rain overspreads the entire area within the next hour or so, things will become extremely icy.
I am EXTREMELY concerned about areas between Springfield and Worcester for very icy conditions - this includes I-91, the Mass Pike and I-84, as well as most, if not all secondary roads.
This freezing rain has led to extremely icy conditions across much of central and northern Connecticut, including the Hartford metro with widespread accidents being reported. I expect that the same type of conditions will spread into our area very, very soon - so, be careful!!
