Very Humid Weather With Scattered Thunderstorms Expected To Continue Into The New Work Week

Radar imagery at the time of this writing indicated some scattered thunderstorms are popping up across the region. The highest coverage of thunderstorms are in the Berkshires right now. I expect to see scattered thunderstorms to continue across the region for the rest of this afternoon with the thunderstorms diminishing towards midnight tonight. These are expected to be very slow-moving thunderstorms and because of this, areas that get stuck under a thunderstorm will see a prolonged period of heavy rain leading to localized street and highway flooding. Temperatures in the low to mid 80s and Dew Point temperatures around 70 Degrees will continue to make it feel very sticky the rest of this afternoon. Turning To Monday – Another round of scattered thunderstorms are expected to commence around midday Monday and continue throughout the afternoon. In fact, thunderstorms will probably persist well into the night on Monday night. The main threat from thunderstorms will be heavy downpours. It will be warm and very humid on Monday with high temperatures between 80 and 85 Degrees. More of the same type of weather is expected on both Tuesday & Wednesday with warm and very humid conditions along with showers and scattered thunderstorms each day, especially during both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and evenings. Main threat with the heavier showers and thunderstorms will be heavy downpours. That said, we’ll have to watch how favorable the atmosphere is for strong thunderstorms as there is a chance that a few of the thunderstorms could be on the strong side with gusty winds on both Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon. High temperatures Tuesday will be near 80 Degrees. High temperatures Wednesday will be near 75 Degrees. I want to close this by saying that not everybody is going to see thunderstorms the next few days. Some areas may not see any downpours while other areas see multiple rounds of thunderstorms the next few days. I will be keeping an eye on things and will alert you and update you on the stronger storms that are occurring in the coming days.
