Very Hot & Very Humid Weather With Afternoon/Evening Thunderstorms Expected Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday; FINALLY Relief In The Way Of Less Heat & Much Less Humidity From Thursday Through Next Weekend

For Tonight: Clear skies are expected tonight with low temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Monday: We are looking at a three day stretch of some really hot and humid weather. I do have good news though – It appears that the heat and humidity will break for a little bit starting on Thursday and continuing through next weekend.

Monday looks hot and humid under partly sunny skies. High temperatures will be between 90 and 95 Degrees. Heat index readings by Monday afternoon will be near 100 Degrees.

It does look like a piece of atmospheric energy will track across the region during the afternoon and will run into a quite unstable environment leading to scattered thunderstorms to be a threat during the mid and late afternoon hours across the entire area. While it looks like we’ll definitely have the moisture and energy to produce a couple of strong to severe thunderstorms, it appears that the amount of wind shear will be limited and thus I think the overall threat for strong to severe thunderstorms is low. That said, a thunderstorm or two could be on the strong to severe side producing some gusty winds or hail up to the size of quarters. Something to keep an eye on.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Very hot and very humid weather is expected on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Overall though, Tuesday looks to be the worse day in terms of the combination of heat and humidity. Skies on Tuesday will be partly sunny with high temperatures around 95 Degrees and heat index readings of 100 to 105 Degrees. An isolated late day thunderstorm is possible, but I do think that most areas should stay dry on Tuesday.

Wednesday could see an active afternoon and evening of thunderstorms, some of which could be strong to severe as a strong cold front pushes through the area.

Skies during the day on Wednesday will feature a mixture of some sunshine and clouds. It will be hot and humid with high temperatures between 90 and 95 Degrees and heat index readings of near 100 Degrees.

Now, to discuss the thunderstorm threat for Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening – As I already mentioned, a strong cold front is expected to push through the area during the late afternoon and evening hours. This front will push into an environment that will be quite unstable and contains plenty of moisture. This should be more than enough to set off strong to severe thunderstorms across the entire area during the afternoon and evening.

Current indications seem to point towards thunderstorms developing across the entire area during the mid and late afternoon hours of Wednesday and then continuing through the evening hours. Thunderstorms should come to an end by just after midnight Wednesday night. Some of the thunderstorms will be on the strong to severe side with the main threat being wind gusts of up to 60 mph. Extremely heavy downpours with localized flooding and frequent lightning will also be a threat.

Thursday Through Next Sunday: A break from the unrelenting heat and humidity is expected starting on Thursday and continuing right through next weekend.

Thursday looks to start out cloudy and there will be some leftover scattered showers around, especially over Central Mass. Skies then look to become partly sunny during the afternoon. High temperatures will be between 80 and 85 Degrees with lower humidity levels.

Friday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures near 80 Degrees along with very tolerable humidity levels.

Saturday is expected to be sunny with high temperatures between 80 and 85 Degrees. Humidity levels will once again be quite tolerable.

Next Sunday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 80 and 85 Degrees. While humidity levels still look tolerable, they will be a little higher than what they are expected to be on Friday and Saturday.
