It appears that there were a total of 5 brief tornado touchdowns that occurred between 4:02 pm and 4:34 pm on Saturday afternoon & affected parts of Paxton, Holden, Berlin and Stow. All were EF-1 tornadoes with maximum winds in the 95-105 mph range.

Paxton & Holden Tornado:

Tornado Touchdown Number 1: The first brief tornado touchdown on Saturday afternoon occurred at around 4:02 pm near Arrowhead Drive in Paxton that crossed Richards Avenue. This tornado then lifted at around 4:03 pm after causing significant tree damage during its brief life. This tornado was rated by the National Weather Service as a EF-1 with maximum winds of around 100 mph and was about 50 yards in width.

Tornado Touchdown Number 2: I think the same tornado that affected parts of Arrowhead Drive and Richards Avenue in Paxton lifted for a minute and then touched down near a part of South Road in Holden between 4:06 pm and 4:07 pm. The tornado damage was rated at EF-1 intensity with maximum winds of 94 mph and was 100 yards in width.

Tornado Touchdown Number 3: Again, I think this is the same tornado, which seems to have gone through several cycles of lifting and touching down. The third brief tornado touchdown occurred right over Willow Brook Road in Holden between 4:08 pm and 4:09 pm causing significant tree damage. It was rated at EF-1 intensity with maximum winds of 104 mph and was 100 yards in width.

Berlin Tornado: While this tornado was from the same thunderstorm complex that produced the tornado in Paxton and Holden, it appears that a separate tornado touched down in the area west of Barnes Hill Road in Berlin at about 4:25 pm. This tornado traveled to the east-northeast crossing Derby Road and West Street before lifting at around 4:27 pm. Many trees were snapped or uprooted by this tornado. This tornado was rated by the National Weather Service as a EF-1 with maximum winds of around 104 mph and was 150 yards in width.

Stow Tornado: Either the same tornado that affected Berlin lifted and then touched down when it moved into Stow or this was a separate tornado. Either way, this brief tornado touched down in the area near Maple Street at about 4:30 pm and then traveled to the east-northeast crossing Bose Avenue causing significant tree damage. This tornado lifted somewhere near Harvest Drive and then touched down again just west of Packard Road and then moved across Carriage Lane before lifting again around 4:34 pm. This tornado caused significant tree damage during its brief life. This tornado was rated by the National Weather Service as a EF-1 with maximum winds of around 104 mph and was around 100 yards in width.
