Strong To Severe Thunderstorms Will Affect Southern Worcester County Through 1 am

A line of strong to severe thunderstorms are located over northeastern Connecticut from Somers and Stafford southeastward to just southwest of Putnam. This line of strong to severe storms are moving to the northeast at a forward speed of 25 mph.


It is expected that these thunderstorms will ride right along I-84 and I-395 right into Sturbridge, Southbridge, Dudley and Webster by 12-12:15 am or so. These storms will then reach areas including Oxford, Charlton, Auburn, Sutton and Mendon by 12:30 am. Areas from Leicester to Grafton and Milford will be impacted beginning around 12:45 am.


Wind gusts of up to 50-60 mph, quarter size hail, torrential downpours with the threat for flash flooding & extremely frequent to continuous lightning are expected with these storms.
