For The Rest Of This Afternoon: A mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds can be expected throughout the rest of this afternoon. It will be hot with temperatures between 85 and 90 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 15 to 20 mph.
Tonight: A cold front is expected to push through Southern New England during the overnight hours of tonight. This front will bring with it some late night scattered showers and thunderstorms to all of Western and Central Mass.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will push into Western Mass by just before midnight tonight. These scattered showers and thunderstorms will then push into Central Mass by midnight to 1 am or so.
These scattered showers and thunderstorms are then expected to affect all of Western Mass throughout the after midnight hours of tonight before they come to an end by 5 to 6 am Monday morning across Western Mass and by 6 to 8 am or so Monday morning across Central Mass.
It should be pointed out that a couple of the thunderstorms could be on the strong side & be capable of producing gusty winds, torrential downpours and frequent lightning.
Bottom line is that expect to be woken up during the after midnight hours of tonight by the sound of frequent thunder.
Low temperatures will be near 60 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph before midnight and West at 10 to 15 mph after midnight.
Monday Through Wednesday: A slightly cooler and much drier air mass will push into the area for Monday and Tuesday. Warmer temperatures and a bit more humidity is then expected on Wednesday.
Monday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 80 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 10 to 15 mph.
Tuesday will be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 75 and 80 Degrees. Winds will be West at around 10 mph.
Wednesday looks to feature a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds. High temperatures will be between 75 and 80 Degrees.
Thursday: I do have concerns that the weather could get quite active by Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening.
A strong low pressure system is expected to push into southern Quebec province during the day on Thursday. A frontal boundary associated with this strong low pressure system is forecast to move through our area during late Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening.
An anomalously strong low pressure system like this for mid-June moving into Quebec province can be big trouble in terms of severe weather across not only Western and Central Mass but also across all of the northeastern United States & this is why I’m concerned with the potential weather for Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening.
It’s possible that we could see a robust squall line of strong to severe thunderstorms move through during later Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening producing damaging winds, hail and possibly even a tornado or two.
The weather for Thursday is something that I’ll be keeping a close eye on & I’ll definitely have updates for you as needed.
High temperatures Thursday will be between 75 and 80 Degrees.
FINALLY - I'm reaching out to you to ask for your help in supporting us here at Route 20 Weather.
It not only looks like it’s going to be a long night coming up for me tracking the thunderstorms for you, but also I’m probably going to be very busy this coming week tracking and keeping you updated about the potential severe weather for Thursday.
You helping me to alleviate the time & costs that’s required to analyze and produce the forecasts that I send out for Western and Central Mass would be immensely appreciated.
