Some Late Day Isolated Showers Will Usher In Some Much Colder Weather For The Weekend

For This Afternoon: A sharp cold front now located over eastern New York State is likely to push across the region this afternoon. This cold front will be accompanied by a couple of showers as it moves through between 4 pm and 7 pm. Most areas, however, will stay dry this afternoon and will note the passage of the cold front with briefly gusty west to northwest winds and a drop in temperatures. Temperatures this afternoon will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph and will become West to Northwest between the 4 pm to 7 pm time frame. Tonight & Saturday: Briefly gusty west to northwest winds are expected this evening with winds diminishing after midnight. Skies tonight will be partly cloudy with low temperatures will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds this evening will be West to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 to 35 mph. Winds after midnight will be West to Northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Saturday looks to feature lots of sunshine with some much cooler temperatures as compared to today’s temperatures. High temperatures will be near 55 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Scattered frost is very likely on Saturday night under clear skies. Low temperatures will be between 34 and 39 Degrees. Winds will be West at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday & Monday: Sunday looks sunny with high temperatures near 55 Degrees. Monday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures near 60 Degrees. Tuesday Through Next Friday: Tuesday and Wednesday both look sunny with high temperatures both days between 60 and 65 Degrees. On Thursday, a southerly wind flow ahead of a strong cold front pushing eastward into the Great Lakes will lead to high temperatures of 65 to 70 Degrees under partly sunny skies. That strong cold front is forecast to push through the region late Thursday night into next Friday bringing with it showers and thunderstorms as it moves through. At this time, the time frame that looks to have the most shower and thunderstorm activity may be during Friday morning.
