For This Afternoon: Cold temperatures will continue through this afternoon across the region under sunny skies. High temperatures this afternoon will be near 25 Degrees. Winds this afternoon will be northwest at 10 to 20 mph. Tonight: Clear skies with cold temperatures are expected for tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be between 8 and 13 Degrees. Winds tonight will be west at 5 mph. Tuesday: The area of high pressure, which will give us the cold temperatures over the next 24 hours, will move off to the east during Tuesday. This will set up a southwesterly wind flow over the area during Tuesday. Skies on Tuesday will start out partly sunny, but will become cloudy during the afternoon. High temperatures Tuesday will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds on Tuesday will be south at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 to 30 mph. Tuesday Night: A frontal boundary will push through the area during Tuesday night. This will lead to rather widespread snow and rain showers throughout Tuesday evening with the rain and snow shower activity becoming much more scattered after midnight Tuesday night. Low temperatures Tuesday night will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Wednesday Through Friday: A partly sunny day is expected for Wednesday with high temperatures between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds on Wednesday will be west at 5 to 10 mph. Another frontal system will push its way through the area on Wednesday night bringing with it widespread snow shower activity. One thing that I will be keeping an eye on is the possibility of a low pressure system forming in the Gulf of Maine late Wednesday night. If, and that is a huge if, this happens, it would lead to steady snow wrapping back into Central Mass during Wednesday night leading a few inches of snow to accumulate. At this point, this is a very low possibility and I think instead we’re just looking at snow shower activity on Wednesday night. Low temperatures Wednesday night will be between 25 and 30 Degrees. Thursday and Friday look sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures both days between 30 and 35 Degrees. This Weekend: While Saturday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees, it appears that an area of low pressure will move into southeastern Canada on Saturday night and Sunday. This storm system has the potential to bring a snow to ice to rain scenario for Saturday night into Sunday. This system is still some 6 days away and details still need to be ironed out. Low temperatures Saturday night will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. High temperatures Sunday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees.
