Snow Expected This Afternoon Through This Evening Across Western & Central Mass

Snow is now falling across all of Western Mass at the time of this writing. The snow has also begun to overspread the western Worcester Hills and has also reached the I-84 corridor (it began snowing here in Sturbridge at about 12:10 pm).

I expect the snow to overspread the rest of Central Mass over the 30 minutes or so, so that by about 1:15 pm or so, it'll be snowing everywhere across Western and Central Mass.

The snow is then expected to continue through the afternoon hours and through all of this evening before it comes to an end from north to south between 1 am and 4 am tonight.

Additionally, it is very likely that there will be a period of moderate to even heavy snow across Western Mass beginning late this afternoon and continuing into this evening with the snow lightening up again in intensity by about midnight.

Across Central Mass, a period of moderate snow looks to occur across areas that are near and south of the Mass Pike for a few hours this evening.

My latest forecast total snow map is attached to this post. As you can see, I've increased the snow totals across most areas based on the latest data.

Roads, driveways and parking lots will be snow covered and slippery across the entire area, especially from about mid and late afternoon through midnight tonight. If you are out and about this afternoon and this evening, please be careful driving - especially, where this is the first widespread accumulating snow across the entire area.
