Showers & Thunderstorms Tonight Across Western & Central Mass

The first round of heavy showers is now exiting the region, however, we are not done with the shower and thunderstorm activity. Current indications are that showers and scattered thunderstorms will overspread the area once more by about the 7-8 pm time frame This Evening. These showers and thunderstorms will continue throughout much of the night Tonight. Heavy downpours and frequent lightning will be the main threat from any thunderstorms. These showers and thunderstorms are anticipated to move out of the area just after sunrise Monday morning. Low temperatures tonight will be near 70 Degrees with very humid conditions. Turning To Monday – I do think that a majority of the day Monday should be dry, but it will be warm and humid. Skies during the day on Monday look to feature a mixture of sun and quite a bit of cloudiness. By late in the day Monday, I am going to be watching for the potential for a few possible strong to severe thunderstorms. It appears that scattered thunderstorms will overspread the region by about the 6 to 8 pm time frame Monday evening. This thunderstorm activity is currently anticipated to continue until about midnight Monday night before the thunderstorms move out of the area just after midnight Monday night. In looking at the severe weather parameters, it appears that any severe weather should be limited to areas near and especially south of the Mass Pike with a less favorable severe weather environment found north of the Mass Pike. At this point, I think that a few thunderstorms may be strong to perhaps even severe with the primary threat being very gusty winds. I am not expecting a widespread severe weather event, just something where a few storms reach severe limits. In addition, frequent lightning and extremely heavy downpours will accompany the thunderstorm activity. High temperatures Monday will be near 85 Degrees. As For Independence Day – I do think that the day will feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds. The air mass is still likely to be unstable enough to support some scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. Heavy downpours and frequent lightning will be the main threat from any thunderstorms. High temperatures will be near 85 Degrees.
