For This Afternoon & Tonight: A robust frontal system now located over the Ohio Valley will push its way eastward through New England this evening bringing with it showers, thunderstorms and strong winds. Some showers are expected across the Berkshires and the northern Worcester Hills early this afternoon with the main bulk of shower activity expected to push into Western Mass by about 4 pm this afternoon. These showers will then push into Central Mass by about 5 to 6 pm today. Widespread showers, some of them heavy in intensity, are expected to continue into this evening. In addition, at least a couple of embedded thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon and this evening. All shower and thunderstorm activity will end across the entire area by about 11 pm this evening. Skies are then expected to become partly cloudy after midnight tonight. In addition to the shower and thunderstorm activity, it’s expected to be quite windy tonight with southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph before midnight and west winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph after midnight. Temperatures this afternoon will be around 55 Degrees. Low temperatures late tonight will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Tuesday: A partly sunny and windy day is expected on Tuesday with high temperatures between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds on Tuesday will be west at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Wednesday: It appears that winter is going to make an appearance late Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening as an area of low pressure tracks to the southeast of Nantucket. Skies on Wednesday will start out partly sunny, but will become cloudy by afternoon. It appears that light snow will overspread the area by about 3-4 pm Wednesday afternoon and then continue into Wednesday evening before ending by midnight Wednesday night. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible late Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening across the entire area. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Low temperatures Wednesday night will be near 30 Degrees. Thursday Through Friday: An area of high pressure will build into the region for Thursday and Friday. Thursday and Friday both look partly sunny. High temperatures on both Thursday and Friday will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Saturday & Sunday: An area of low pressure is expected to track across New England during Saturday bringing with it rain throughout the day on Saturday. High temperatures on Saturday will be near 55 Degrees. An area of high pressure is expected to build into the area on Sunday bringing with it partly sunny skies and windy conditions. High temperatures Sunday will be near 35 Degrees.
