Showers & Possible Thunderstorms Wednesday Evening Across Western & Central Mass

For Tonight: An area of high pressure located over the area tonight providing a pleasant night in terms of weather. Skies tonight will be clear to partly cloudy with low temperatures between 38 and 43 Degrees. Winds will be East at 5 to 10 mph. Tuesday: An area of high pressure will remain in place over the area during Tuesday. This means that skies on Tuesday will be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees. Winds will be Southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Tuesday Night: A clear night is expected on Tuesday night with low temperatures between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be South at 5 to 10 mph. Wednesday & Wednesday Night: A strong cold front is expected to push across the region late Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening. Even though a majority of the day Wednesday is expected to be dry with sunny skies anticipated, it appears that the strong cold front will bring with it a line of southeastward moving showers and possible thunderstorms late Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening. Current indications are that the showers and possible thunderstorms will first affect Western Mass between 5 pm and 9 pm and then affect Central Mass between 7 pm and 11 pm. Once the showers move past the region, skies will become partly cloudy by after midnight Wednesday night. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. Low temperatures Wednesday night will be near 45 Degrees. Winds on Wednesday will be South at 10 to 20 mph. Winds on Wednesday night will be West to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Thursday & Friday: A partly sunny and windy day is expected on Thursday with high temperatures near 65 Degrees. Winds on Thursday will be North at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Clear skies are expected on Thursday night with low temperatures near 40 Degrees. Partly sunny skies are expected on Friday with high temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees. Memorial Day Weekend: There’s expected to be a tug of war of sorts between a big high pressure system over northern New England and a developing sub-tropical storm that looks to form near the southeastern coast of the United States this weekend. The big question is how far north will the rain with that storm system make it up the East Coast. Current indications point towards that big high pressure system holding firm over our area leading to a dry Memorial Day weekend. That said, this is not 100 percent certain as there is a slight chance that at least some rain could push northward into our area on Sunday and Monday. For now though, I think the weekend should stay dry, but the progress of that storm system near the US Southeast coast will be watched closely. Saturday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees. Sunday and Memorial Day both look partly sunny with high temperatures between 75 and 80 Degrees.
