Showers Late Tonight & Saturday Morning With Cool & Damp Weather Expected The Rest Of This Weekend Across Western & Central Mass

For The Rest Of This Afternoon: Generally partly sunny skies can be expected throughout the rest of this afternoon. Temperatures will be around 75 Degrees. Winds will be West at 5 to 10 mph & become South to Southwest late in the day.

Tonight: Skies are expected to become cloudy this evening with scattered showers overspreading the entire area during the after midnight hours. These showers are expected to become widespread in coverage by sunrise Saturday morning. Low temperatures tonight will be near 55 Degrees. Winds will be South at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday still looks to be a cool and damp day across the entire area.

Widespread showers are expected for much of Saturday morning. These showers will come to an end by late Saturday morning.

During Saturday afternoon, cloudy skies are expected and there will be areas of drizzle and sprinkles at times.

High temperatures will be between 55 and 60 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 5 to 10 mph.

For those of you that have asked - This will be the 12th Saturday in a row here in Sturbridge where measurable rain has been recorded. The last Saturday that did not have measurable rain was on March 22nd.

Why has it been so rainy on just the weekends since late March? It's actually just bad luck with how the weather pattern is set up. Basically every important weather system that's brought us rain has swept through every 3-4 days or so. It's just how the Spring weather pattern has set up with fairly frequent weather systems moving through around mid-week and then again during the weekends.

I have hope that as we get into the deep summer months that the weather pattern will shift again towards one that keeps us dry on the weekends. In fact, I think we're already starting to see this change in the weather pattern as this weekend will overall be drier than last weekend.

Early signals for next weekend are for, hopefully, some early morning showers next Saturday with the rest of the weekend being dry. Fingers and toes crossed!!!

Sunday is expected to be generally cloudy, however, there may be some brightening of the sky and perhaps even some peeks of sunshine during the afternoon. That said, there is also expected to be areas of drizzle at times, especially during the morning. High temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be East to Southeast at 5 to 10 mph.
