Scattered Snow Showers Expected This Afternoon Across Western & Central Mass

Scattered snow showers are expected to continue across all of Western and Central Mass throughout this afternoon as streamers of lake effect snow showers move across New York State into our area.

These snow showers will generally be light to perhaps moderate in intensity & shouldn't really put down any snow accumulations. That said, it's possible that some heavier snow showers could occur during this afternoon leading to some areas receiving a dusting to perhaps just under an inch of snow.

In addition to the snow shower activity, it is expected to be windy this afternoon with west winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35-40 mph. Temperatures are also expected to remain in the mid to upper 30s throughout this afternoon.

Finally, I am currently working on the latest forecast for the region, which should be posted in about 2-3 hours from now. I did want to give you a heads-up that there is an increasing likelihood of a storm system that could bring the entire area 3 to 6 inches or so of snow accumulation on Tuesday and Tuesday night. More details on this storm are forthcoming with my forecast, which like I said will be posted sometime between 1 and 2 pm this afternoon.
