Scattered Rain & Snow Showers Likely Late Wednesday Afternoon & Wednesday Evening Across Western & Central Mass

For Tonight: Generally cloudy skies are expected throughout tonight. Low temperatures will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: A mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds can be expected throughout Wednesday. In addition to this, some mid and late afternoon scattered rain showers with scattered snow showers in the Worcester Hills and the Berkshires can be expected.

High temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Wednesday Night: A cold front is expected to push through the region during the first half of Wednesday night.

This front will bring with it some scattered rain and snow showers throughout Wednesday evening. Skies then will become partly cloudy during the after midnight hours of Wednesday night.

Low temperatures will be between 20 and 25 Degrees, Winds will be West at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Thursday: A sunny and windy day is expected with high temperatures near 35 Degrees. Winds will be West at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40-50 mph.

Friday: An area of high pressure will build into the region during Friday.

This means that skies on Friday will be sunny with high temperatures near 40 Degrees.

This Weekend: A coastal storm system looks to affect the weather during this weekend.

Most of the precipitation with this storm system will occur from late Friday night through Saturday and Saturday night.

In terms of precipitation type, it appears that the precipitation type may start out as snow late Friday night into Saturday morning, especially across areas north of the Mass Pike. This could lead to some accumulations of snow on the order of perhaps 1 to 2 inches across areas north of the Mass Pike and up to one inch of snow accumulation across areas near and south of the Mass Pike.

This snow will likely change to rain from south to north across the entire area during the late morning hours of Saturday. Rain is then expected throughout Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.

Turning to Sunday, I think that we could see some lingering clouds during the morning that gives way to some sunshine during the afternoon.

High temperatures Saturday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Low temperatures Saturday night will be near 30 Degrees. High temperatures Sunday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees.
