For Tonight: A southwesterly wind flow well ahead of a frontal boundary that’ll be located over the central United States will lead to a mild night across the region. Skies tonight will be partly cloudy with low temperatures near 45 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Thursday: Record high temperatures are expected on Thursday across the entire area. Skies on Thursday morning will be partly sunny, but will become cloudy during the afternoon. In addition, widespread showers will overspread the region from southwest to northeast by late afternoon. High temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 8 to 16 mph. Thursday Night & Friday: A strong low pressure system is expected to track from the Ohio Valley on Thursday night through northern New England during Friday morning. This low pressure system will pull a cold front through the region during the late morning and early afternoon hours. Two rounds of rain look likely for Thursday night with the first round occurring during Thursday evening and the second round of rainfall occurring during the predawn hours of Friday morning. Between these two rounds of rainfall, there should be a break in the rainfall, but it’ll still be cloudy throughout Thursday night. It will be mild on Thursday night with temperatures between 50 and 55 Degrees. Winds will be South at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Rain is expected to continue throughout Friday morning. In addition, it actually looks like the atmosphere may be a bit unstable during Friday morning as that cold front moves through. Because of this, a thunderstorm or two is also a possibility first across Western Mass through mid-morning and then across Central Mass during the mid and late morning hours of Friday. Colder air infiltrates the region during Friday afternoon as that front moves to the east. This will lead to temperatures falling throughout the afternoon with the possibility of scattered rain showers changing to scattered snow showers. Temperatures on Friday morning will be between 55 and 60 Degrees with temperatures falling through the 40s and into the 30s during the afternoon. Winds will be Southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph in the morning and Northwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 to 40 mph. This Weekend: An area of high pressure will build into the region for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Sunday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures between 45 and 50 Degrees. Turning to Presidents’ Day, a frontal system will pass through the region by late in the day. Skies are expected to be cloudy and there will be some scattered rain showers throughout the day. High temperatures will be between 50 and 55 Degrees.
