For The Rest Of This Afternoon: Rain is expected to continue throughout the rest of this afternoon & the rain will be heavy at times. Ponding of water on streets, highways, underpasses and areas of poor drainage is expected throughout the rest of this afternoon & this rain will certainly lead to a poor late afternoon and evening commute.
In addition to the heavy rain, it will be cold and windy throughout this afternoon. Temperatures throughout the rest of this afternoon will be between 42 and 46 Degrees. Winds will be East at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Tonight: That low pressure system is expected to track to near the Cape during tonight.
Rain, which will be heavy at times, is expected to continue throughout this evening until just after midnight tonight. The rain is expected to lighten up in intensity very late tonight with the steady rain tapering off to scattered showers by dawn Friday morning. The heavy rain this evening will continue to produce ponding of water on streets, highways, underpasses and areas of poor drainage.
Storm rainfall totals by the time the rain ends late tonight will average between 1 and 2 inches across the entire area.
It will continue to be cold and windy throughout tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds will be North to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Friday: That low pressure system is expected to pull away from the area during the day on Friday.
A cloudy day is expected on Friday & it appears that there will be two rounds of showers during the day. The first round of scattered showers looks to occur during the first half of the morning. A second round of scattered showers is expected during the mid and late afternoon hours.
High temperatures will be near 50 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 15 mph.
Friday Night: Cloudy skies are expected throughout Friday night. In addition, some scattered showers are expected throughout the evening.
Low temperatures will be near 40 Degrees. Winds will be West at 7 to 15 mph.
Saturday: Saturday looks to feature a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds. Some scattered showers are expected during the afternoon.
High temperatures will be near 55 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph.
Sunday & Memorial Day: Improving weather is expected for Sunday and Memorial Day as a high pressure system builds into the region.
A mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds is expected on Sunday with high temperatures between 60 and 65 Degrees.
Memorial Day looks to feature partly sunny skies with high temperatures near 70 Degrees.
Tuesday & Wednesday: An area of low pressure is expected to track from the Ohio Valley to the Mid-Atlantic states during Tuesday. That low pressure system may end up passing to the south of New England on Tuesday night and Wednesday. This could lead to most of the rain with this storm system to stay to our south. That being said, it is too soon to say with any certainty that we’ll completely miss out on most of the rain & because of this, this storm will be watched closely in case it does pass closer to our area.
Tuesday looks to start out partly sunny, but skies will become cloudy during the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 70 Degrees.
Cloudy skies with some scattered showers are expected during Tuesday night and Wednesday. As I just mentioned, we’re going to have to see how far north the steady rain with that low pressure system moves. Low temperatures Tuesday night will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. High temperatures Wednesday will be near 65 Degrees.
