Rain Expected To Continue This Afternoon Into This Evening Across Western & Central Mass

The rain that has been occasionally occurring all morning across Western and Central Mass is expected to increase in intensity and coverage during this afternoon.

This means that rain is expected all afternoon long and the rain will likely be moderate to heavy at times.

The rain is then expected to continue through this evening and the rain may be moderate to heavy at times. Current indications seem to point towards the rain ending very late tonight.

Rainfall totals for the most part will average between one half of an inch (0.50") and one inch (1.00"). There is the possibility of localized amounts of up to around 2 inches or so in areas that see persistent heavy rainfall.

The rain this afternoon and this evening will lead to ponding of water on roads, highways and underpasses. Some flooding is possible in areas of poor drainage.

It is going to be cool this afternoon with temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. Winds this afternoon will be Northeast at 5 to 10 mph.
