Periods Of Rain Tonight & Sat Morning Will Be Followed By Showers & Thunderstorms Sat Evening

Periods Of Rain Tonight & Saturday Morning: Occasional rain is expected throughout this evening across the entire area as a warm front lifts across the region. This rain is expected to come to an end by just after midnight tonight, but we will likely be left with areas of fog and drizzle during the late night hours of tonight. In addition, temperatures will start out around 40 Degrees this evening, but will rise through the 40s by late tonight. Winds tonight will be South at 10 to 20 mph. A second round of rain will overspread the entire area by sunrise Saturday morning and then continue throughout the morning on Saturday before ending around the 1-2 pm time frame Saturday afternoon. Once the rain ends early Saturday afternoon, we will be in a very mild air mass with temperatures of 60 to 65 Degrees expected, along with humid conditions. Winds on Saturday will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Showers & Thunderstorms Saturday Evening: A robust cold front is expected to push across the region between 8 pm and midnight Saturday night bringing with it the threat for showers and thunderstorms. Current indications point to showers and thunderstorms moving into Western Mass by about 8-9 pm Saturday evening and then pushing eastward reaching Central Mass by 10 pm. These will be fast moving showers and thunderstorms and because of this, they will be moving away and ending by about 11 pm. As for the thunderstorm intensity potential – At this point, I think that most of the thunderstorms will be well below severe limits. That said, it’s possible that a couple of the thunderstorms could be strong with a threat for strong wind gusts. Something to keep an eye on during Saturday evening. Once the cold front moves through by midnight, temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 30s during the after midnight hours of Saturday night. Winds Saturday evening will be Southwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Winds late Saturday night will be West at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
