For This Afternoon: A stubborn low pressure system located to the south of New England will give the area scattered showers that’ll be moving in a southeast to northwest direction. The area that’ll have the highest chance for showers will be near and south of the Mass Pike with gradually lowering chances for showers expected as you head northward into the Route 2 corridor. Temperatures this afternoon will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 10 to 20 mph. Tonight: That low pressure system is expected to remain nearly stationary to the south of New England tonight. Moisture on the northern side of this storm system will stream northward into the area. This means that periods of steady rain is expected tonight across the entire area. Low temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 10 to 20 mph. Wednesday: It appears that the low pressure system will hang around for one last day on Wednesday before it finally pulls away. It should be noted that a sharp cold front will push through the region during the late afternoon and evening hours of Friday. This front may bring a few showers with it. More likely though, this cold front will bring a drastic drop in temperatures on Friday night with low temperatures near 40 Degrees. Holiday Weekend Forecast: A chilly, but nice weekend is expected across the area due to cold air rushing in behind that cold front.
