On & Off Shower Activity May Bring Some Much Needed Rainfall From Monday Afternoon Through Tuesday

For Tonight: Clouds are expected to thicken up tonight ahead of an approaching warm front. Any shower activity should hold off until after sunrise Monday morning and it appears that tonight will be dry. Low temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be South at 10 to 20 mph. Monday & Monday Night: Widespread showers are expected to overspread the entire area during the late morning and midday hours as a warm front pushes through the region. This widespread shower activity is expected to persist throughout the afternoon and into the evening hours. Some isolated thunderstorm activity is also a possibility Monday afternoon, especially near and south of the Mass Pike. The shower activity looks like it’ll become much more scattered in nature after midnight Monday night. Rain totals from late Monday morning through Monday afternoon and into Monday night looks to average between one quarter of an inch (0.25”) and one half of an inch (0.50”) across the entire area. Local amounts of one inch and possibly more is anticipated near and south of the Mass Pike as some heavier shower and isolated thunderstorm activity is expected Monday afternoon and Monday evening. High temperatures Monday will be near 75 Degrees. Low temperatures Monday night will be near 65 Degrees. Winds on Monday will be east at 5 to 10 mph. Winds on Monday night will be southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Tuesday: Another round of rain in the form of widespread showers looks likely during the day on Tuesday as a stalled frontal boundary hangs around the region. Shower activity is expected to be on the increase by late morning or so with at least scattered shower and very possibly widespread shower activity expected during the afternoon and evening hours. Rainfall totals Tuesday could add up to another one quarter (0.25”) to possibly one half (0.50”) of an inch. High temperatures will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. Winds will be South at 5 to 10 mph. Wednesday Through Friday: An area of high pressure will gradually build into the region for the second half of this coming week. Wednesday looks partly sunny and there’s the possibility for a few isolated afternoon showers. High temperatures will be near 85 Degrees. Thursday and Friday are both expected to be sunny with high temperatures between 85 and 90 Degrees.
