Much More April-Like Weather Is Expected This Coming Week For Western & Central Mass

For Tonight: An easterly wind flow is expected to be in place across the region tonight. This means that low clouds with areas of drizzle and fog can be expected throughout tonight. In addition, there’s likely to be some very isolated showers around, especially after midnight tonight. Low temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be East at 5 to 10 mph. Monday: Low clouds with areas of fog and drizzle is likely throughout the day on Monday due to a persistent easterly wind flow. In addition to this, there’s likely to be some fairly widespread showers around throughout the morning right into the first half of the afternoon as a frontal boundary pushes eastward across the region. Current indications are that this frontal boundary will cross Western Mass around midday and then cross Central Mass during the early and mid-afternoon hours. High temperatures will be near 55 Degrees. Winds will be East at 8 to 16 mph. Tuesday: That frontal boundary will be slow to push offshore during Tuesday. At the same time, there’s likely to be an upper level low pressure system that will be centered over central Quebec province. I do think that the upper level low pressure system should introduce enough cold air aloft to produce instability across the region during Tuesday. This means that there will be a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds during the day on Tuesday. In addition, there will be some scattered showers around during the afternoon. Given the cold air aloft, some of the heavier showers could produce some very small hail. High temperatures will be between 53 and 58 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph. Wednesday: That upper level low pressure system over Quebec province will gradually lift out of the area during Wednesday. There’s likely to be enough instability from that weather feature to produce another day with a mixture of some sunshine and lots of clouds. High temperatures will be near 55 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph. Thursday & Friday: An area of high pressure will try to build into the area for late this coming week. This means that Thursday will be partly sunny with high temperatures near 65 Degrees. Friday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees. Next Weekend: It looks like a fairly robust frontal system will push through the region Saturday afternoon or Saturday night. Saturday looks cloudy with showers expected during the afternoon. The showers then look to continue through Saturday night and Sunday morning. The shower activity looks to come to an end during Sunday afternoon. High temperatures Saturday will be near 60 Degrees. High temperatures next Sunday will be near 60 Degrees.
