More Winter Weather Is Expected From Thursday Afternoon Through Friday Across Western & Central Mass

More Winter Weather Is Expected From Thursday Afternoon Through Thursday Night & Friday: Even though Wednesday looks dry with no weather problems, we are expected to see another round of accumulating snow on Thursday afternoon, Thursday night and Friday. Wednesday looks sunny, but cold with high temperatures between 25 and 30 Degrees. An area of low pressure is expected to move from the Southeastern United States on Wednesday night and Thursday to near Nantucket on Friday. It now looks like the slightly more offshore track of this storm will allow colder air to remain entrenched across the region leading to either an all snow scenario or an almost all snow scenario across Western and Central Mass. Snow will overspread Western and Central Mass during the early afternoon hours of Thursday. The snow is then expected to continue through the rest of Thursday afternoon, all of Thursday night and much of the day on Friday. 2 periods of moderate to perhaps even heavy snow is possible with this storm – the first is during the mid and late afternoon hours of Thursday with the second possibly occurring from late Thursday night through Friday morning. So, to sum up this storm for you – Snow begins during the early afternoon hours of Thursday and possibly becomes moderate to heavy at times during the mid and late afternoon hours of Thursday. A period of steady light snow is then expected during Thursday evening with a period of moderate to heavy snow possible from about midnight Thursday night into Friday morning. Light snow is then expected again Friday afternoon with the snow ending late Friday afternoon or early evening Friday. My snowfall forecast map is attached to this post.

This Weekend Looks good with no weather problems expected. Saturday looks partly sunny and windy with high temperatures near 30 Degrees. Sunday also looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees. The Next Chance For A Storm To Watch Will Be on Monday and Monday night as a fast moving low pressure system crosses Southern New England. This storm could bring another round of snow that probably will be mixed with rain with high temperatures in the upper 30s.
