It Looks Like Sunday Is Going To Be A Non-Event For Snow Across Western & Central Mass

For This Afternoon: Mild early springlike temperatures are expected this afternoon under a partly sunny sky. High temperatures this afternoon will be between 48 and 53 Degrees. Tonight: Cloudy skies are expected tonight with continued mild temperatures. Low temperatures tonight will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Saturday: A cold front will very slowly push its way across Southern New England during Saturday. It appears that skies on Saturday will be cloudy, however, some peeks of the sun are possible from time to time. High temperatures Saturday will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Sunday: An area of low pressure is expected to pass well southeast of Nantucket during Sunday. It looks like the track of this storm system will be further east than what it looked like yesterday at this time. Because of this, it appears that only a little bit of snow will fall on Sunday with most of that occurring during the morning. Light snow will begin across the region around sunrise Sunday morning and continue throughout the morning on Sunday. The snow will end across Western Mass and across the northern Worcester Hills by early afternoon Sunday and continue very lightly across the rest of Worcester County through at least part of the afternoon. The light snow will come to an end everywhere by mid to late afternoon Sunday. Because of the more eastward track of this storm, the snowfall amounts will be even lighter than what I thought yesterday at this time. Snow amounts will range from a dusting across Western Mass and across the northern Worcester Hills to around one inch or so across the remaining parts of Worcester County, including the Mass Pike, I-290, Route 9, I-84 and I-395. It’s possible that the Route 146 corridor may see up to 2 inches of snow accumulation due to the slightly closer proximity to the storm track. High temperatures Sunday will be near 30 Degrees. Next Week’s Weather Outlook: Next week will start out cold with gradually milder temperatures expected for the second half of next week. Monday is expected to be partly sunny and cold with high temperatures between 20 and 25 Degrees. Tuesday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 30 Degrees. Wednesday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures near 40 Degrees. Sunshine is expected to start the day on Thursday with clouds on the increase during the afternoon as a frontal system approaches the area. High temperatures Thursday will be near 50 Degrees. That frontal system is expected to push through the area during Thursday night and next Friday bringing with it rain. At this time, it appears that rain, which may be heavy at times, will occur from about midnight Thursday night through Friday morning. The rain is expected to come to an end during the early afternoon hours of Friday. Rainfall amounts of around one inch seems possible for late Thursday night and Friday morning. Low temperatures Thursday night will be near 40 Degrees. High temperatures next Friday will be between 45 and 50 Degrees.
