Increasing Amounts Of Unsettled Weather Expected Through Friday Across Western & Central Mass

For Tonight: A moist easterly wind flow will continue to be in place over the area tonight. This means that low clouds with areas of drizzle and fog can be expected all night long. Low temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be East at 5 to 10 mph. Thursday: A frontal system is expected to lift northward as a warm front once we get into later Thursday. Before that though, it appears that an easterly wind flow will remain in place across the area during much of Thursday. Because of this, low clouds with areas of drizzle and fog can be expected throughout the morning. By Thursday afternoon, there appears that some scattered showers will stream northward across the region near that warm front. High temperatures will be near 75 Degrees. Winds will be East at 5 to 10 mph. Friday: Scattered showers with a few thunderstorms will be a threat during the day on Friday as the area will be located in a warm, very humid and unstable air mass. One thing that will need to be watched is the potential for some isolated strong to severe thunderstorms as the unstable air mass may combine with some rather strong mid-level winds. Also, some lift and energy may be found along a surface trough of low pressure that looks to be positioned across central Mass. There may be two rounds of showers and scattered thunderstorms during Friday. The first round looks to move through during the morning with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms possible between about 7 am and 11 am. A break in the action may occur around midday with a second round of scattered showers and thunderstorms possible between about 3 pm and 7 pm Friday. One or two of these storms might be on the strong to severe side with possible very gusty winds and hail. High temperatures will be near 80 Degrees. Winds will be South at 10 to 20 mph. This Weekend: An upper level low pressure system located over northern New England will lead to the buildup of afternoon cumulus clouds on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday looks to start off sunny, but skies will feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds during the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 75 Degrees. Sunday will also start off sunny, but skies will be partly sunny during the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 80 Degrees.
