Now, onto the latest forecast:
For This Afternoon: Partly sunny skies with hot and humid conditions are expected throughout this afternoon. It’s possible that there could be some very isolated thunderstorms mostly across Western Mass very late this afternoon and early this evening.
Temperatures will peak at between 90 and 95 Degrees this afternoon. Winds will be West to Southwest at 6 to 12 mph.
Tonight: Any very isolated thunderstorms across Western Mass early this evening will quickly dissipate shortly after midnight.
The rest of tonight is expected to be partly cloudy and it will be warm and humid. Low temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday: A warm and humid day is expected on Friday with high temperatures of around 80 Degrees and dew point temperatures in the mid 60s.
This warm and humid air mass will lead to a somewhat unstable atmosphere across the region. This unstable air mass will combine with an eastward moving weather disturbance to produce showers and thunderstorms across the entire area during Friday afternoon and Friday evening.
Showers and thunderstorms will develop across the region by about mid-afternoon Friday and then continue through the late afternoon and evening hours. The shower and thunderstorm activity may actually be quite widespread across northern Worcester County, the upper Pioneer Valley and the northern Berkshires while the coverage of showers and thunderstorms across the rest of Western and Central Mass should be scattered in nature.
Additionally, a couple of the thunderstorms might be on the strong side & be capable of producing wind gusts of up to 40-50 mph. Otherwise, torrential downpours with the threat for localized street and highway flooding will be the main threat with the thunderstorms that occur.
Saturday: A cold front will gradually push its way across Southern New England during the day on Saturday.
This means that skies will be cloudy throughout the day on Saturday. Showers with a few thunderstorms look to affect the entire area at some point during the day. The reason why I say this is because there is quite a bit in the way of uncertainty as to when exactly during Saturday there will be showers and thunderstorms. Some weather forecast guidance point to most of the activity occurring during the morning into the early afternoon while other weather forecast guidance are showing most of the activity occurring during the afternoon hours.
My thinking is that most of the showers and thunderstorms will probably occur from late morning through the early and mid-afternoon hours.
High temperatures will be near 75 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 15 mph.
Sunday: A partly sunny day is expected on Sunday as a high pressure system begins to build into the area.
High temperatures will be near 75 Degrees.
Monday Through Next Thursday: Generally partly sunny skies are expected on Monday with high temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees.
Another cold front is expected to push through the region on Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night. This means that showers and scattered thunderstorms can be expected during Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening. High temperatures will be between 75 and 80 Degrees.
High pressure looks to gradually build into the region for Wednesday and next Thursday.
This means that partly sunny skies can be expected on Wednesday. High temperatures will be between 75 and 80 Degrees.
Sunny to partly sunny skies are expected for next Thursday. High temperatures will be near 80 Degrees.
