For This Afternoon: A scorcher of an afternoon with plenty of humidity is expected under lots of sunshine.
Temperatures will be between 93 and 98 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph.
Tonight: A warm and humid night is expected under clear to partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday: Yet another hot and humid day is expected on Wednesday.
Skies will start out sunny in the morning and will become partly sunny during the afternoon. There is the possibility for a couple of isolated thunderstorms during the evening. That said, it seems that most of the scattered thunderstorm activity may occur across Connecticut and Rhode Island & may just scrape areas near and south of the Mass Pike.
High temperatures will be between 90 and 95 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be between 65 and 70 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 7 to 14 mph.
Thursday & Thursday Night: An area of low pressure is expected to ride along a frontal system and move somewhere across our area. Where this low pressure system tracks exactly will hinge on exactly where the frontal system sets up over our area.
Some of the weather forecast guidance shows the front setting up across northern Worcester County leading to most of the rain and thunderstorms to occur across a large part of Western and Central Mass. Other weather forecast guidance shows the front setting up over Connecticut and Rhode Island leading to the rain and thunderstorms to occur along the south coast of New England.
At this point, I’m going to go with scattered showers during Thursday morning with rain & scattered thunderstorms during Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. The rain will be heavy at times throughout Thursday afternoon and Thursday night.
Rainfall amounts during Thursday and Thursday night across Western and Central Mass are expected to average between 1 and 2 inches.
High temperatures Thursday will be near 70 Degrees. Low temperatures Thursday night will be near 55 Degrees. Winds on Thursday will be Northeast at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday: Friday’s weather forecast is going to hinge on how quickly the low pressure system departs and pulls that frontal system offshore.
Most of the weather forecast guidance agrees that it will probably continue raining throughout Friday morning. The disagreement in the weather guidance lies with Friday afternoon as some guidance shows the rain continuing across Central Mass for most of the afternoon. Other guidance suggests rain ending everywhere by late Friday morning and drier air moving in during the afternoon.
My thinking is that it will rain across the entire area throughout Friday morning. The rain will then end across Western Mass by midday and then end across northern Worcester County by early afternoon Friday. During Friday afternoon, it will remain cloudy, but dry across Western Mass into northern Worcester County. Across central and southern Worcester County, it appears that the rain will hang on during Friday afternoon and end by late afternoon.
Additional rainfall amounts on Friday look to average between one quarter of an inch (0.25”) and one half of an inch (0.50”).
High temperatures will be near 70 Degrees.
This Weekend: A fabulous weekend in terms of weather is still expected across the region.
Saturday will be sunny with high temperatures between 75 and 80 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees.
Sunday looks sunny with high temperatures near 80 Degrees. Dew point temperatures will be near 55 Degrees.
