The rain across a majority of the region has lightened up as compared to what it was throughout much of the day today.
Rainfall totals with this storm so far have been much heavier than what was expected. These rain totals include: Worcester: 2.02 Inches. Fitchburg: 1.79 Inches. Orange: 1.76 Inches. Springfield: 3.28 Inches.
Here in Sturbridge, I have recorded a total of 2.85 inches of rainfall so far.
While rain is expected to continue throughout the rest of tonight, the intensity of the rain should be more light to moderate. The exception may be around the lower Pioneer Valley of Western Mass where some periods of heavier rain is expected tonight.
During Saturday, periods of rain is expected during the morning with the rain ending by afternoon.
Additional rainfall amounts tonight & Saturday morning looks to range from around one quarter of an inch across areas of Central Mass that are near and south of the Mass Pike to around one tenth (0.10") to one quarter (0.25") of an inch for areas of Western Mass that are north of the Mass Pike.
Across Western Mass, the middle and upper Pioneer Valley and the northern Berkshires look to see an additional one quarter to one half of an inch of rainfall tonight into Saturday morning. For the lower Pioneer Valley and the southern Berkshires, between one half of an inch (0.50) and one inch of additional rainfall is expected tonight into Saturday morning.
Good news though, the sun comes back for Sunday with the sunny weather expected to last through much of, if not all of next week. High temperatures will be in the 70s on not only Sunday, but throughout all of next week.
