Extreme Brush Fire Danger Expected Wednesday Across Western & Central Mass

Yet another round of extreme fire danger is expected throughout the day on Wednesday due to the combination of very dry ground conditions, gusty west-southwest winds and high temperatures that'll be well into the 70s. In fact, the National Weather Service now have Red Flag Fire Warnings posted for all day Wednesday across the entire area.

Not to sound like a broken record but due to the expected EXTREME Fire Danger on Wednesday, I strongly advise you to NOT do any of these activities that would potentially lead to a fast moving and fast spreading brush fire:

- Burning of brush piles.

- Having any sort of a campfire.

- Starting a fire in your fire pit.

- Using power tools of any sort in high grass or in dry leaves.

- Idling your vehicle in tall grass or on dry leaves.

- Improperly discarding cigarettes.

- Dumping ash in leaves or in high grass.

Local fire departments have been working their butts off responding to numerous brush fires and illegal burns for the last month and unfortunately, I expect them to have a very busy day tomorrow. PLEASE don't add to their workload by accidently starting a brush fire. I plead with you - DO NOT do any sort of burning!!

In terms of actual weather - Wednesday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 75 Degrees. Winds will be West-Southwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
