As someone that actually likes warm weather (80 degrees is my preferred temperature), I'm not even looking forward to this weekend's heat and humidity.
Skies this afternoon will be sunny to partly sunny with temperatures around 75 to 80 Degrees or so.
I am watching an area of showers and thunderstorms which is the demarcation line between warm weather and hot and very humid weather. It looks likely that these showers and a few thunderstorms will push through our area between about 10 pm this evening and 3-4 am Saturday morning. The heaviest shower and thunderstorm activity is expected to be south of the Mass Pike. In fact, areas of central and southern Connecticut may have a strong to severe thunderstorm or two tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be near 60 Degrees with increasing amounts of humidity.
Hot and humid weather is expected on Saturday under sunny to partly sunny skies. High temperatures Saturday will be around 95 Degrees with heat index readings of around 100 Degrees.
A very warm and oppressively humid night is expected on Saturday Night under clear skies. Low temperatures Saturday night will be between 70 and 75 Degrees.
Another hot and potentially even more humid day is expected on Sunday with high temperatures around 95 Degrees. Heat index readings on Sunday will be around 105 Degrees. A cold front is expected to push through the region Sunday Evening. We're going to have to keep an eye out for the intensity of the thunderstorms that move through. At this time, it appears a line of thunderstorms will move through during the 7-10 pm time frame Sunday evening and at least a couple of these thunderstorms may be on the strong to severe side. That front and its thunderstorms will move out of our area by midnight. We return back to much more tolerable temperatures and humidity for Monday under cloudy skies. High temperatures Monday will be between 75 and 80 Degrees with much lower humidity levels.
