Another Round Of Rain Is Expected Later Thursday Afternoon Through Thursday Evening

For Tonight: A high pressure ridge will be located right over the area tonight. This means that quiet weather is expected with clear to partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be West at 8 to 16 mph. Thursday: That high pressure system will push to the east during Thursday putting us in a southerly wind flow. At the same time this is happening, an area of low pressure is expected to track east-northeastward across southern and eastern Pennsylvania during Thursday reaching Long Island, New York by Thursday evening. Skies will start out partly sunny but will turn cloudy by afternoon. It appears that rain will overspread the entire area by mid-afternoon and then continue right through the late afternoon hours. The heavier rain looks to wait to move in until evening. High temperatures will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph. Thursday Night: That low pressure system is expected to pass near the south coast of New England during the evening before moving into the Gulf of Maine late at night. Rain is expected to continue through all of Thursday evening before it comes to an end after midnight. All indications points towards that the rain will be moderate to heavy at times, especially across areas near and south of the Mass Pike. Total rainfall amounts look to range from about one half of an inch (0.50”) across areas north of the Mass Pike to around one inch (1.00”) of rainfall across areas near and south of the Mass Pike. Low temperatures will be between 60 and 65 Degrees. Winds will be Southeast at 10 to 20 mph. Friday: In the wake of Thursday night’s storm, it appears that Friday will be a beautiful day with lots of sunshine along with lower humidity levels. High temperatures will be between 75 and 80 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph. This Weekend: Saturday looks to start out sunny to partly sunny, but clouds will be on the increase as a frontal system approaches the region from the west. Showers and thunderstorms look to move into the region by Saturday evening and then continue through the first half of Saturday night. The intensity of the thunderstorms Saturday evening is something that’ll need to be watched closely as the environmental conditions may be favorable for some of the thunderstorms to be on the strong to severe side. This is something that’ll be watched closely, but since we’re still 3 days away from it occurring, I don’t want to get into too much more detail. Any leftover clouds Sunday morning should give way to afternoon sunshine. High temperatures Saturday will be near 80 Degrees. Low temperatures Saturday night will be between 65 and 70 Degrees. High temperatures Sunday will be near 80 Degrees.
