4 To 6 Inches Of Snow Accumulation Is Expected On Tuesday: And here we go again! Another storm system is likely to bring enough snow to plow across the entire area during the day on Tuesday. area of low pressure will rapidly move northeastward from the Mid-Atlantic coast on Sunday morning to near Nova Scotia by Sunday night. An area of low pressure is expected to take shape near Long Island on Tuesday morning and strengthen as it heads east-northeastward across Nantucket on Tuesday afternoon and south of Nova Scotia on Tuesday night. Moisture with this storm system will run into some very cold air across southern New England leading to snow throughout the day on Tuesday across the entire area. Snow is expected to begin across Western and Central Mass between about 7 and 9 am Tuesday morning. Snow is then expected to continue throughout the day on Tuesday and it may fall at a moderate to heavy rate at times from about late morning to mid-afternoon Tuesday. At this point, it appears that the snow will come to an end between 3 pm and 5 pm Tuesday afternoon. My Snowfall Forecast Map For Tuesday’s Storm Is Attached To This Post. This is expected to be another light and fluffy snow that should be pretty easy to shovel.

But Wait, There’s More! It continues to look like a very active storm track for the next week to possibly even the next 2 weeks. There is at least two more storm threats that are on my radar right now. The first storm system that I’m watching is for Thursday into Friday. At this point, it appears this first storm will miss us to the south leaving us dry and cold. A bigger storm threat looks to be for Sunday as a coastal storm will pass across the Cape and towards Nova Scotia. This storm definitely has the potential to bring Western and Central Mass 6 to 12 inches of snow accumulation during the day on Sunday. A third potential storm system could bring us even more significant snow next Wednesday (February 17). I urge you to keep checking back for the latest updates on all of these storm threats. Needless to say, I’m going to be quite busy forecasting all of these storms over the next couple of weeks. How Much Snow Has Worcester & Springfield Had So Far This Winter?
