About 3 To 5 Inches Of Snow Accumulation Is Expected For Very Late Thursday Night & Friday

For This Afternoon: Rain showers will continue through mid-afternoon and will come to an end by late this afternoon. High temperatures this afternoon will be near 45 Degrees. Tonight & Thursday: An area of high pressure will very briefly build into the area tonight and Thursday. Skies this evening will be cloudy, but will become partly cloudy after midnight tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be between 25 and 30 Degrees. Thursday is expected to be a partly sunny day, however, skies will become cloudy by late in the day. High temperatures Thursday will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. A 3 To 5 Inch Snowfall Is Expected For Very Late Thursday Night Through Friday: An area of low pressure is expected to move to near the Virginia coast on Thursday night. This low pressure system is then strengthen as it tracks very near the Cape on Friday before moving towards Atlantic Canada on Friday night. It is expected that this storm will produce enough snow to plow and shovel across all of Western and Central Mass, but it is not expected to be a major snowstorm. Here Are My Thoughts: I think that snow will overspread all of Western and Central Mass probably between about 2 and 4 am or so Friday morning with the snow continuing through the Friday morning commute. Snow is then expected to continue throughout all of Friday morning and into the very early afternoon hours of Friday. Snow is expected to come to an end across the entire area around mid-afternoon Friday My snowfall forecast map is attached to this post.

It goes without saying that I’m watching Friday’s storm very closely and will have more updates as needed. Friday Night & Saturday: Cold air will push into the area for Friday night and Saturday. Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected on Friday night with low temperatures near 15 Degrees. Sunny skies are expected on Saturday with high temperatures near 30 Degrees. Sunday: A frontal boundary is expected to push through the area during Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening. Showers are likely to push into the area during the late morning and early afternoon hours. While most of these showers will likely fall as just rain, the temperatures may be cold enough again for some freezing rain during the late morning hours across the entire area. It’s something to definitely keep an eye on. The showers will then continue through the afternoon and evening hours before ending. High temperatures Sunday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Monday Through Wednesday: An Arctic air mass will settle itself over New England and it’s likely to get quite cold around here, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday looks partly sunny with temperatures between 25 and 30 Degrees. Monday night is expected to be clear to partly cloudy with low temperatures between 5 and 10 Degrees. Tuesday is expected to be partly sunny and COLD. High temperatures Tuesday will be between 15 and 20 Degrees. Tuesday night is expected to be partly cloudy with low temperatures between 10 and 15 Degrees. Wednesday looks cloudy and there may be some scattered snow shower activity as a frontal boundary moves through the area. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 25 and 30 Degrees.
