For Tonight: Cloudy skies are expected throughout tonight. Some showers are expected to overspread the entire area by the predawn hours of Monday morning.

Low temperatures will be between 30 and 35 Degrees, which will occur this evening. Temperatures are expected to rise into the upper 30s to near 40 Degrees during the after midnight hours of tonight. Winds will be Southeast at 10 to 15 mph.

A Wind-Swept Heavy Rain Is Expected On Monday & Monday Night: An intense low pressure system and its associated strong cold front is expected to sweep through the area during Monday night. This weather system is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain to the entire area during Monday and especially during Monday night. Total rainfall amounts of around 2 inches look likely & these heavy rain totals will lead to flood concerns along a majority of the rivers and streams across Western and Central Mass.

Widespread showers can be expected during Monday morning as a warm front lifts northward across the region. It appears that these showers may become much more scattered in nature during Monday afternoon as we await a line of heavy rain & a few possible thunderstorms, which looks to move through during Monday night.

During Monday night, rain, which will be heavy at times, will develop across the region during the early evening hours. Rain, which will be heavy at times, is then expected to continue throughout the overnight hours of Monday night. A few possible thunderstorms could accompany the passage of a strong cold front, which looks to move through between about 11 pm and 3 am.

All rain with this weather system is expected to come to an end by about 5-7 am Tuesday morning.

Rainfall totals of around 2 inches or so can be expected across the entire area. Most of this rain is likely to occur during Monday night. The expected 2 inches of total rainfall will definitely be enough to cause some flood concerns along the rivers and streams across Western and Central Mass. Additionally, poor drainage and urban street flooding is quite likely, especially during Monday night.

In addition to the heavy rain, it is also expected to be quite windy, especially during Monday night. Winds during the day on Monday will be South at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph, increasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph by late afternoon and evening. Winds on Monday night will be South at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50-55 mph throughout much of the night. Winds look to shift into a Southwesterly direction and decrease to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph by sunrise Tuesday morning.

Tuesday Through Friday: Once that strong cold front pushes offshore by early Tuesday morning, the weather looks to become quiet from Tuesday through Friday.

Tuesday looks partly sunny and windy with high temperatures near 45 Degrees. Winds will be West at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

Wednesday is expected to be sunny with high temperatures near 40 Degrees.

Thursday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures near 45 Degrees.

Friday looks cloudy with high temperatures near 50 Degrees.
