A Wet Thanksgiving Day Looks Likely Across Western & Central Mass

For This Afternoon:Partly sunny skies are expected throughout this afternoon across Western and Central Mass. Temperatures this afternoon will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. A West to Northwest wind will gust up to 25 mph at times throughout this afternoon. Tonight: A large high pressure system will control our weather throughout tonight. This will lead to a cold night across the region under increasing amounts of clouds. Low temperatures tonight will be between 20 and 25 Degrees. One thing that we will need to watch for around sunrise Wednesday morning is some very light snow or light freezing drizzle across Western Mass as a warm front begins to move towards our area. Wednesday: That warm front will gradually push across the area during the day on Wednesday. Even with this occurring, it appears that temperatures will be very slow to warm across the region during Wednesday. This means that Wednesday will be a cloudy day and I think that we may see some spotty light freezing drizzle or some very light snow during the morning. During the afternoon, it looks generally dry, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a brief period of drizzle or some very light snow at times. Even though I think that any light snow or freezing drizzle will be too little to accumulate, we will need to keep an eye on the possibility of some slick roads in some areas. High temperatures Wednesday will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Wednesday Night & Thanksgiving Day: An area of low pressure is expected to push from the Ohio Valley through the Northeastern United States on Wednesday night and Thanksgiving bringing with it wet weather. Rain is expected throughout Wednesday night and it looks like the rain will continue through much of, if not all of Thanksgiving Day. All-in-all, Thanksgiving looks to be a wash-out, indoors type of day. Temperatures on Wednesday night will remain in the upper 30s to low 40s. High temperatures Thanksgiving Day will be near 50 Degrees. Friday Through Sunday:That frontal system and its associated low pressure will gradually move away on Friday. I think we’ll see more clouds than sunshine on Friday and there may be a couple of rain showers around. High temperatures Friday will be near 55 Degrees. A weak weather disturbance will push through the area during Saturday bringing with it more clouds than sunshine. In addition, a stray rain shower or two is possible, especially during the afternoon. High temperatures Saturday will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Sunday looks to be a sunny day with high temperatures between 45 and 50 Degrees.
