A Very Soggy Thursday Morning Is Expected Across Western & Central Mass

Widespread showers with heavy downpours are expected to overspread much of Western and Central Mass during the after midnight hours of tonight. Widespread showers with heavy downpours & the threat for localized flash flooding is expected throughout Thursday morning across much of the region. I think that the shower coverage across Central Mass will be much more widespread than across Western Mass.

These widespread showers are then expected to end around midday or so.

Rainfall totals from late tonight through Thursday morning will average between 1 and 2 inches with localized higher amounts expected. The areas that look to see the higher amounts may end up being across southern and eastern Worcester County, basically near and south of Route 9 and east of I-190.

The heavy downpours will definitely impact the morning commute & slow going due to heavy rain & localized flooding on roads will be a definite concern.
