A Very Rainy Saturday Afternoon & Saturday Evening Is Expected Across Western & Central Mass

For Tonight: Clouds will be on the increase tonight as moisture from a developing low pressure system near the North Carolina coast streams northward. Low temperatures will be near 50 Degrees. Winds will be Southeast at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Saturday & Saturday Night: A much needed 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is expected throughout Saturday afternoon and Saturday night as low pressure moves northeastward from the North Carolina coast into Southern New England and a frontal system pushes eastward into our area. Current indications point towards rain beginning across the entire area between 10 am and 12 pm Saturday. The rain is then expected to continue through all of Saturday afternoon and much of Saturday night. In addition, the rain is likely to fall at a heavy intensity at times. Rain looks to come to an end just after midnight or so Saturday night. High temperatures Saturday will be near 65 Degrees. Low temperatures Saturday night will be near 55 Degrees. Winds Saturday will be Southeast at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Winds Saturday night will be South at 10 to 20 mph. Sunday: That low pressure system and the associated frontal system will push to the east during Sunday. A sunny to partly sunny day is expected for Sunday with high temperatures near 75 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph. Next Week’s Weather: A prolonged stretch of dry weather is expected next week as a big high pressure system sits over the area. Monday will be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees. Tuesday will be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures near 70 Degrees. Wednesday will be sunny with high temperatures between 75 and 80 Degrees. Thursday will be partly sunny with high temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees. Next Friday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 70 and 75 Degrees. Weather Outlook For Memorial Day Weekend: At least part of Memorial Day weekend looks dry as that high pressure system remains anchored over the region. Next Saturday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 75 and 80 Degrees. Next Sunday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 80 Degrees. As for Memorial Day, it’s possible that at least some rain may creep into the area as a frontal system and a low pressure system moves into the region. High temperatures will be between 70 and 75 Degrees.
