For The Rest Of This Afternoon: A strong cold front will push its way across the eastern Great Lakes region throughout the rest of this afternoon. Out ahead of this front, a gusty southwesterly wind will push some mild temperatures into our area. Skies throughout the rest of this afternoon will feature a mixture of sunshine and clouds. Temperatures will be around 65 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Tonight: That strong cold front will continue moving eastward across New York State this evening and will enter Southern New England late tonight. Skies tonight will be cloudy and some scattered rain showers are possible well after midnight. It will be mild tonight with temperatures only falling back to about 55 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph. Saturday: Saturday will start out quite mild, but will quickly turn chilly during the afternoon as that cold front pushes its way across the region. Scattered rain showers are expected to continue during Saturday morning before coming to an end by about 10-11 am. Temperatures during the morning will be around 55 Degrees or so. Winds during the morning will be West to Southwest at 10 to 20 mph. Once that strong cold front pushes to the east, skies will turn partly sunny during Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will fall to between 40 and 45 Degrees during the afternoon and winds will be Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Sunday: An area of high pressure is expected to push into the area during Sunday. This means that Sunday will be sunny to partly sunny throughout the day. Some moisture pushing eastward could lead to some scattered rain and snow showers during the late afternoon and evening hours. High temperatures will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph. Monday: High pressure will remain in control of the weather during Monday leading to a sunny to partly sunny day. High temperatures will be near 40 Degrees. Tuesday: An area of low pressure is expected to head northeastward towards the central and eastern Great Lakes during Tuesday. Clouds are expected to be on the increase throughout the day. High temperatures will be near 45 Degrees. Tuesday Night & Wednesday: One low pressure system is expected to head towards southern Ontario with a new secondary low pressure system forming over Southern New England late Tuesday night and Wednesday. While I’m pretty certain most of the precipitation will be rain across the entire area due to the inland track of the low pressure system, the possibility of a more wintry precipitation outcome is something that will need to be watched. Precipitation in the form of all snow or a snow-rain mix will initially overspread the entire area during Tuesday evening. This precipitation will probably change to all rain pretty quickly so that by midnight or so, it should be raining everywhere across the area. This rain is then anticipated to continue through the after midnight hours of Tuesday night. Temperatures will start out in the low 30s, but will rise into the mid to upper 30s by late at night. Wednesday is likely to be pretty wet with rain expected throughout the day. In addition, the rain is expected to be heavy at times during the day. Total rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches is quite possible. Given that this rain is expected to occur on one of the busiest travel days of the year, expect snarled and slow-going traffic with significant delays likely. High temperatures Wednesday will be near 50 Degrees. Thanksgiving Day: Dry and chillier weather is expected for Thanksgiving Day. Skies are expected to be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Thanksgiving Weekend Weather Outlook: A chilly Thanksgiving weekend looks possible and all signs seem to point towards dry weather. That said, there could be storminess nearby and the track of that storm will need to be watched very closely as a track closer to our area could mean wintry precipitation next Saturday night or next Sunday. Next Friday looks partly sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees. Next weekend currently looks partly sunny with high temperatures on both next Saturday and next Sunday between 35 and 40 Degrees.
