A Period Of Rain Is Possible From Tuesday Afternoon Into Wednesday Across Western & Central Mass

For This Afternoon: Cloudy skies with cool and windy conditions will continue across the region this afternoon as an annoying low pressure system hangs out to the south of New England. Temperatures will be between 50 and 55 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Tonight: That low pressure system is expected to remain nearly stationary to the south of New England tonight. This will lead to the continuation of cloudy skies and some pretty raw conditions. Low temperatures tonight will be between 40 and 45 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 10 to 20 mph. Tuesday & Tuesday Night: It appears that our stubborn low pressure system will push northwestward and then westward causing it to come a little closer to our area. This means that skies on Tuesday and Tuesday night will be cloudy. In addition, some showers are expected to lift northward into the entire area during the afternoon. Showers are then expected to continue through Tuesday night. In fact, some steady rain is a possibility across areas near and south of the Mass Pike after midnight Tuesday night. High temperatures Tuesday will be near 55 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 10 to 20 mph. Low temperatures Tuesday night will be between 45 and 50 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 10 to 20 mph. Wednesday: It appears that the low pressure system will hang around for one last day on Wednesday before it finally pulls away. Some steady rain looks to continue during Wednesday morning near and south of the Mass Pike with showers continuing throughout the morning north of the Mass Pike. This rain should gradually end during the afternoon. High temperatures will be between 55 and 60 Degrees. Winds will be Northeast at 10 to 20 mph. Thursday & Friday: An area of high pressure looks to build into the area for both Thursday and Friday. Thursday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures between 65 and 70 Degrees. Friday looks sunny with high temperatures near 70 Degrees. It should be noted that a sharp cold front will push through the region during Friday evening bringing with it perhaps a few showers, but more likely a drastic drop in temperatures with low temperatures Friday night near 40 Degrees. This Weekend: A chilly weekend is expected across the area due to cold air rushing in behind that cold front. Saturday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures near 55 Degrees. Clear skies with scattered frost possible is expected on Saturday night with low temperatures near 35 Degrees. Sunday looks sunny with high temperatures between 50 and 55 Degrees.
