A Little Bit Of Light Snow Is Possible Tuesday Night With Perhaps More Snow On The Horizon For Sunday Across Western & Central Mass (Issued: Monday Afternoon 12/08/2025)

For Tonight: An area of high pressure will control the weather throughout tonight.

Clear skies can be expected tonight with low temperatures between 5 and 10 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Another cold day can be expected on Tuesday. Skies will start out sunny, but there is expected to be an increase in cloudiness during the afternoon.

High temperatures will be near 30 Degrees. Winds will be West at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and Southwest at around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: A weather disturbance is expected to push through the area during the overnight hours of Tuesday night. This disturbance has the potential to bring either snow showers or even a period of light snow to the area during Tuesday night.

Cloudy skies are expected throughout Tuesday night. In addition, it appears that snow showers will cross the region between about 8-9 pm and about 1-2 am. These snow showers look to be rather widespread in their coverage and in fact, a period of steady light snow could occur during this time frame.

Snow accumulations during Tuesday night look to amount to a dusting to perhaps up to one inch.

Low temperatures will be between 22 and 27 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

Wednesday: An area of low pressure is expected to track from the Great Lakes region on Wednesday morning to across southern Quebec province by late Wednesday. This low pressure system is likely to pull a frontal system through the region during the day on Wednesday.

The precipitation type that falls on Wednesday looks to be quite tricky to forecast as temperatures initially will be cold enough to snow, but should warm up quickly thereafter.

My thinking is that snow will overspread much, if not all of Western and Central Mass around midday Wednesday. The snow should quickly change to rain in the Pioneer Valley of Western Mass as well as across areas near and south of the Mass Pike. For areas in the Worcester Hills and the Berkshires, the precipitation may stay as all snow for a couple of hours into the early afternoon hours before it changes to rain by mid-afternoon. It is possible that the precipitation may stay as all snow in the far northern Worcester Hills and the Berkshires.

All precipitation will this weather system will come to an end by late afternoon or early evening.

My take is that most areas will see little or no snow accumulation on Wednesday due to the quick change from snow to rain. The exception may be across the Berkshires and the far northern Worcester Hills (north of Route 2) where snow amounts of perhaps 1 to 2 inches is a possibility.

High temperatures will be between 35 and 40 Degrees. Winds will be Southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Thursday & Friday: Partly sunny skies can be expected on Thursday with high temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees.

A sunny day is expected on Friday with high temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees.

This Weekend: I am keeping a close eye on this weekend’s weather as there are signs in the data that point to the possibility of at least some snow to occur across the entire area on Sunday.

All of the latest weather forecast guidance from today are pointing towards an area of low pressure to form off of the Mid-Atlantic coast late Saturday night and track to the south of New England during the day on Sunday.

The track of this storm system could be close enough to bring the entire area snow during the day on Sunday & as it stands right now, snow amounts may end up being anywhere from a couple of inches to perhaps a few inches. Not a big storm by any means, but it could be enough to definitely make it look like a Christmas card out there.

In any case, I will be watching this storm system closely and will definitely have more updates in the days to come.

Saturday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 35 Degrees.

Sunday may see snow throughout the day with perhaps a couple to maybe a few inches of snow accumulation. High temperatures will be near 30 Degrees.
