A Few Scattered Snow Showers Possible This Afternoon Into Early This Evening

A pretty robust piece of energy in the mid-levels of the atmosphere will move across Southern New England this afternoon. This will lead to the atmosphere becoming unstable and because of this, I expect a continuation of a buildup of clouds throughout this afternoon. In addition, I think that some scattered snow showers will be possible for a few hours this afternoon into early this evening which could lay down a quick dusting of snow. Current indications seem to point towards these scattered showers occurring across the entire area between 4 pm and 7 pm. Any of these snow showers will be quick hitting and will move in and out rather quickly. Even with that, any scattered snow showers will be capable of producing anywhere between a dusting to perhaps a quarter of an inch of snow. It will be windy and cold this afternoon with temperatures around 35 Degrees and West to Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
