2 To 4 Inches Of Snow With A Light Glaze Of Ice Is Still Expected Today

Snow is now beginning across the region with it now snowing in southern and western Worcester County as well as across the lower Pioneer Valley. It is expected that it will be snowing everywhere by or before 8:30 am.

A period of heavy snow is still expected to occur across the entire area from about 9-10 am until about midday or so when snow rates of around one inch per hour is expected.

Hazardous travel conditions will quickly develop once the snow begins and because of this I urge everyone to use caution when traveling.

It is also expected that a period of sleet and freezing rain will occur during early this afternoon leading to poor travel conditions.

All precipitation is expected to come to an end by about 3-4 pm this afternoon.

Snow totals of 2 to 4 inches are still expected across the entire area with most areas probably seeing closer to 3 to 4 inches of snow. A light glaze of ice will accumulate on top of the snow during each this afternoon.
