10:35 am Sunday Morning Weather Update For Western & Central Mass

Moderate to heavy rain is currently falling across all of Central Mass and across a large part of Western Mass at the time of this post. This moderate to heavy rain is leading to ponding of water on roads and highways & is also lowering visibilities. Because of this, use caution if you are out and about.

This moderate to heavy rain is expected to continue across the entire region for the next 2-3 hours or so. The rain is then expected to gradually come to an end by 2-3 pm across Western Mass and then gradually come to an end by 3-5 pm or so across Central Mass.

I urge those of you out on area roads and highways to use an abundant amount of caution throughout the rest of this morning and into early this afternoon. The moderate to heavy rain will continue to cause ponding of water & reduced visibilities on area roads and highways leading to slow-going & delays. Also, hydroplaning will be a threat due to the ponding of water on roads & because of this, please be aware that this will be a hazard.
