1 To 3 Inches Of Snow Accumulation Is Expected On Tuesday Across Western & Central Mass (Issued: Early Sunday Afternoon 12/21/2025)

For The Rest Of This Afternoon: It will continue to be windy throughout the rest of this afternoon under a mixture of sunshine and clouds. Temperatures will remain in the low to mid 30s. Winds will be West to Northwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35-40 mph.

Tonight: A windy and cold night is expected across the entire area under clear skies. Low temperatures will be near 15 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30-35 mph.

Monday: Monday looks to be a sunny to partly sunny day. High temperatures will be near 30 Degrees. Winds will be West to Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

1 To 3 Inches Of Snow Accumulation Is Expected On Tuesday: A warm front is expected to affect the entire area during the day on Tuesday. Western and Central Mass is expected to remain on the colder side of this warm front and because of this, light to moderate snow can be expected throughout much of the day on Tuesday.

Light to occasionally moderate snow is expected to overspread Western Mass by just after sunrise Tuesday morning and then begin across Central Mass by mid-morning Tuesday. The light to occasionally moderate snow looks to then continue through all of late Tuesday morning and all of Tuesday afternoon. The snow is then expected to come to an end by early Tuesday evening.

All-in-all, this is looking like a widespread 1 to 3 inch snowfall across all of Western and Central Mass.

For those of you traveling on Tuesday or if you are going to be out and about on Tuesday, be aware that untreated roads and other surfaces will likely be slick as the snow will be wet in consistency leading to greasy surfaces. So, be careful out there on Tuesday.

Additionally, Tuesday’s snowfall will guarantee a white Christmas for this year across all of Western and Central Mass as the snow that we receive on Tuesday will stick around through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

High temperatures Tuesday will be in the low 30s. Winds will be West at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and East at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day: A windy Christmas Eve is expected under partly sunny skies. High temperatures will be around 35 Degrees.

Christmas Day looks cloudy with high temperatures near 40 Degrees.

Friday & Saturday: The weather forecast for late this coming week has a very high degree of uncertainty, both for weather and temperatures. A frontal boundary is expected to set up somewhere near the northeastern US and Mid-Atlantic states. Where this boundary sets up is going to be crucial in determining both temperatures and precipitation type on Friday.

If this boundary sets up to our south over the Mid-Atlantic states, it would lead to temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s on Friday with snow or ice. On the other hand, should this boundary sets up over our area or just to our north, it would lead to temperatures to be in the mid 40s to low 50s on Friday with rain.

For now, I’m going with an unsettled day on Friday with mixed precipitation changing to rain and high temperatures around 40 Degrees. Be aware though that, significant changes in the forecast may be needed depending on where that frontal boundary sets up in relation to our area.

Saturday looks sunny with high temperatures between 30 and 35 Degrees.
