For The Rest Of This Afternoon: A cold, but sunny rest of the afternoon can be expected across the entire area. Temperatures will be between 20 and 25 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph leading to Wind Chill Temperatures of around 10 Degrees.
Tonight & Thursday: That high pressure system will remain in control of the weather throughout tonight and Thursday.
Skies tonight will be clear to partly cloudy with low temperatures between 10 and 15 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph. Wind chill temperatures tonight will be around Zero.
Plenty of sunshine will start off the day for Thursday, however, skies will quickly become cloudy by afternoon as a weak piece of atmospheric energy moves across the area. This piece of energy could produce some scattered snow showers during the afternoon, especially over Western Mass. High temperatures will be between 25 and 30 Degrees. Winds will be West at 10 to 20 mph.
1 To 2 Inches Of Light & Fluffy Snow Is Expected From Late Friday Morning Until Friday Evening: An area of low pressure is expected to track well south of New England during late Friday and Friday night. This will put our area on the far northern fringes of this storm and because of this, a very light snowfall looks likely from late Friday morning to Friday evening.
Light snow looks to overspread the entire area by late Friday morning and then continue through all of Friday afternoon. The steadiest snow is expected to occur across areas south of the Mass Pike while areas near and north of Route 2 may only see intermittent light snow. In-between these two areas (or across a majority of Western and Central Mass), light snow is expected from late Friday morning through Friday afternoon.
The light snow is expected to quickly come to an end from north to south during Friday evening.
At the present moment, it appears that snowfall amounts of less than one inch can be expected across areas near and north of Route 2. For areas south of Route 2, which covers the rest of Western and Central Mass, 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulation seems likely. This will be a light and fluffy snow.
High temperatures Friday will be between 25 and 30 Degrees. Low temperatures Friday night will be near 10 Degrees.
This Weekend: An Arctic air mass is expected to move into the region during this weekend.
A mixture of sun and clouds can be expected during the day on Saturday with high temperatures struggling to make it to 20 Degrees.
Saturday night is expected to be clear to partly cloudy with low temperatures between 5 and 10 Degrees. A 10 to 20 mph west to northwest wind will drive wind chill temperatures to 5 to 10 below zero.
Some moderation in the temperatures are expected for Sunday under sunny to partly sunny skies. High temperatures will be between 25 and 30 Degrees.
