Radar imagery indicated a large area of heavy rain and freezing rain (depending on your temperature) pushing into western Mass and western Connecticut.
This heavy rain and heavy freezing rain will overspread the rest of the area over the next hour or so and it will be raining heavily everywhere by 2:15-2:30 pm.
The heavy rain and heavy freezing rain is then expected to continue across the region for a couple of hours before it comes to an end late this afternoon (about 4:30-5 pm or so).
In areas that are now above freezing, expect the heavy rain to cause issues in terms of ponding on roads.
Those areas that are still below freezing such as in the Worcester Hills, the middle and upper Pioneer Valley and the Berkshires, expect that this heavy freezing rain to cause big issues in terms of icing on all objects, as well as cause roads to be very treacherous, especially those side streets and back roads.
More storm updates will be posted as needed.
