Wintry Mix Of Precipitation Thursday Morning, Especially Across The Worcester Hills & The Berkshires

For Tonight: A cold front is expected to push across the region around or just after sunset. It’s possible that a couple of rain showers could accompany the front as it moves through around sunset. The passage of this front will be noticeable as winds will become pretty gusty out of the northwest this evening and temperatures will fall from the current readings in the 60s to the 40s this evening. Skies this evening will gradually become partly cloudy with clear to partly cloudy skies expected after midnight tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be between 30 and 35 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 40 mph this evening and Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph after midnight. Wednesday: A sunny to partly sunny and windy day is expected on Wednesday. High temperatures will be near 45 Degrees. Winds will be Northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. A Wintry Mix Of Precipitation Expected During Thursday Morning: An area of low pressure is expected to track east-southeastward from western New York State on Thursday morning to near the south coast of New England by Thursday afternoon. Precipitation out ahead of this low pressure system will overspread the region just before sunrise Thursday morning. Temperatures are expected to be cold enough to support a mixture of some snow, sleet and freezing rain around sunrise on Thursday morning. Areas in the Worcester Hills and the Berkshires may see a very light coating of snow and ice from the mixed precipitation which could lead to some slippery roads during the Thursday morning commute. The wintry mix of precipitation is expected to change to all rain across much of the area by mid-morning Thursday. The exception to this looks to be across the Berkshires and across the northern Worcester Hills where a wintry mix of light snow, light sleet and light freezing rain may continue until at least early afternoon Thursday. All precipitation looks to come to an end by late Thursday afternoon. Here Is A More Detailed Breakdown Of What I’m Thinking: Thursday Morning: A mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to begin across the entire area just before sunrise Thursday morning. This mixture of light snow, light sleet and light freezing rain is expected to continue through the Thursday morning commute and this will lead to some slippery roads during the Thursday morning commute, especially across the Worcester Hills and across the Berkshires. The mixed wintry precipitation looks to change to periods of light rain across most of the area by mid-morning Thursday with the periods of light rain continuing through midday Thursday. The exception looks to be across the northern Worcester Hills and the Berkshires where a mix of light snow, light sleet and light freezing rain may continue throughout all of Thursday morning. Temperatures on Thursday morning will range from near freezing across the Berkshires and across the northern Worcester Hills to temperatures gradually rising to around 35 Degrees across the rest of the area. Thursday Afternoon: A mixture of light snow, light sleet and light freezing rain will gradually change to periods of light rain across the northern Worcester Hills and the Berkshires during early afternoon. Periods of light rain is then expected to continue until late afternoon when it will come to an end. Elsewhere across the region, periods of light rain can be expected during Thursday afternoon with temperatures between 40 and 45 Degrees. The light rain is expected to come to an end by late Thursday afternoon. Friday: Another area of low pressure is expected to pass to the south of our area during Friday. Even though skies look to be cloudy on Friday, it should be dry. High temperatures will be near 50 Degrees. Weekend Weather Outlook: A dry weather pattern looks likely for the weekend with no weather issues anticipated. Saturday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 45 and 50 Degrees. Sunday looks partly sunny with high temperatures near 45 Degrees.
